What programs does the Computer Science Department offer?

10 questions I'm asked most by students

Who is my advisor?

Each student in the department is assigned a faculty advisor. They are a faculty member in the department, so they know all about the programs we offer and can help you make sure you register for the right classes.

There are a couple of ways to find out who your faculty advisor is:

If you do not see your name on the board, or your advisor on WESS, let me know!

Where is my advisor?

You can find your advisor's contact info and office hours in the Faculty Directory.

You should meet with your advisor whenever you're preparing for registration, or if you need any other advice.

What should I take, and what have I taken?

You can find the program requirements online, and see what classes you've taken/still need to take on WESS.

Can I graduate yet?

Do I really need to take these GenEds?

Yes.

As of last Spring, though, there are 2 less requirements.

What courses are being offered?

You can find out what is scheduled in our department on our master schedule.

The schedule is tentative, but updates will be broadcast to all students.

I need help with my classes! What do I do?

Can I do research with a professor?

Talk to the faculty and express your interest in working with them!

How can I network and interact with other students and faculty?

Have any ideas? Want to get involved in programming contests? Let us know!

How do I know what's going on in the department?
