NECST - Networking and Engaging in Computer Science and Information Technology Program

Summary

Northern New Jersey presents a diverse region that hosts many higher education institutions. Most of these institutions concentrate on undergraduate education with few institutions offering masters programs, especially masters programs in Computer Science. The NECST Program aims to create collaborations within the local region to harness these schools’ strengths, present a pathway to students in computer science, STEM and non-STEM fields to attaining a Master’s Degree in Computer Science (MSCS), award them with a $10,000 scholarship, and to strengthen the ties between regional institutions so that these institutions can come together and combine their strengths to better serve the student population. The NECST program brings together Montclair State University (MSU), Saint Peter’s University (SPU, formerly Saint Peter’s College), and Seton Hall University (SHU) to collaborate and enable students from any discipline who has demonstrated academic ability to pursue a Master in Computer Science degree at MSU.
